This new project is a trip through 80's synthwave,
mellow funk & hip-hop vibes.
The EP kicks off with “New Wave Era”,
a synthwave joint with SP-12 drums, moog bass,
wurli chords and well polished synths setting the mood proper.
Next up, “Disco Machine” features Humphrey Wonder,
playing the guitar on a up-tempo beat with moog bass,
mellow rhodes, disco-claps and vocal samples.
We keep it moving with “On Top Of The World” a bouncy,
uptempo funk beat with heavy sub-bass,
pulsing synths, lead-synth, piano and strings.
Next up, “Next Level Sentiment” a synthwave cut with SP-12 drums,
a nasty CS-80 bass, synth chords, lead synth,
spacy sound effects and strings for that soundtrack-feel.
The EP rounds off with “Spaced Out” features DJ Durian
on the turntable. "Durian" lays the scratches down
on a MPC-based hiphop beat with heavy sub-bass,
moody synths, synth-brass & smooth rhodes.
Funktional J will also be releasing a limited edition 10”
